This blog is about #BodyWareness™ treatments, and why it makes so much sense to take a good care of body and brain.
So, what is it about?
BodyWareness™ is a modern fusion of a #Feldenkrais “Functional Integration” treatment, Awareness Coaching and self-help strategies for daily life.
The experience will rebalance your body, and yourself, that also helps you develop inner tools to stay vital and alert.
What do I need to do?
In the first place, nothing. You just lie down, close your eyes and relax, feeling the touch. The rebalancing effect comes from inside you.
What do you do?
During the treatment, I move parts of your body in a very conscious, slow and organic way, putting soft or firm pressure on your muscles and bones at the same time. Communication between the body and the brain is initiated, reminding the nervous system to use all the bodily structures naturally.
Reminding the brain, the nervous system? Does it need to be reminded?
Yes – the connection between body and brain should be flowing and alive. In many cases, the body-brain interplay is unclear, unbalanced, polarised. In the case of tension, stress or pain, it’s even neglected, distorted – sometimes it seems to be cut-off. The body just survives rather than being joyfully alive.
How do you get that natural state back?
I try to stimulate the interplay by supporting your body’s natural functions. The sensory-motor cortex in your brain gets activated, and eventually is reshaped. Responding to that, the brain remembers its natural capacity to organise the body in a natural, light and effortless way. In short, the brain loves remembering its inbuilt functions. Developing this, you become a kind of “gentle inner engineer” all by yourself.
How does it feel?
Nice, and sometimes “different.” Actually, everyone experiences it in their own unique way. Most of my clients love the soft and respectful touch. Many of them feel deeply touched, addressed on a deeper level. Clients with health issues change their inner focus, increase their perception and start to understand their symptoms. You may fall into a space between waking and sleeping – memories, pictures, may bubble up and you might have insights into your subconscious.
How long does a treatment take?
Usually 75 minutes, but clients working in high-pressure environments often choose 100 minutes in order to get the benefit of the full experience, including additional awareness coaching and self-help strategies.
Exclusively in London, there is an intensive package of 2.5 hours available a kind of highly personalised inner Spa event.
Who can come to you?
Everyone – everyone who wants to relax deeply; everyone who would love to indulge themselves as well as get in tune with their body’s intelligence. Clients with tension, pain, or stress-related disorders like burn-out or sleeplessness, are welcome, as well as people recovering from accidents or major surgery.
Where to get it?
Frequently in London, Vienna, Zurich, Munich. Times and venues are shown in the calendar of my webpage: www.katrin-jonas.com/eventa/
