A wonderful summer has come to an end; holidays spent in remote countries, by the sea or simply at home are now in the past. Autumn has arrived. The days are getting shorter and the leaves are starting to fall.
Often we wonder how to rescue a little bit of the regenerative effects gained by moving in the sun, long walks along the beach or just resting and enjoying timelessness. And above all, how do we take these experiences into our demanding, fast-paced daily life?
I would like to suggest 4 things:
1. Go for a little morning ritual:
Before you start your day, sit with closed eyes for five minutes in your bed. Put one hand flat on the top of your breast bone and feel your breathing. Reconnect with the atmosphere – or the energy - of a certain (summer) experience you would like to be reconnected to, and stay with that just for a 3 minutes.
Reconnect to that experience during the day as often as you wish.

2. Try this simple 'yin-yang' exercise:
“Moving and Resting”:
Whenever you feel like moving, allow your body to do so (walking, dancing, swimming, jogging, cycling, hula hoop, trampoline). But do it with one condition: Move completely without any effort. Imagine you are still in holidays and there is nothing to reach. There is no time pressure. There is no dead line, no goal at all. You will feel that your movements will change its character.
After 5-10 minutes moving effortlessly, sit silently, lean back and close your eyes. Feel your inner movements such as your breath, the beat of your heart or the vibration of your muscles. Stay with that for further 5-10 minutes.
3. Organise your “Me-time”
Bring a little holiday experience into your daily life by booking wellness treatments, massages or pamper packages as a gift for yourself. Spa's, health centres and beauty sanctuaries offer a wide range of treatments for well being and relaxation.
Participate in classes which connect body, mind and soul such as Yoga and Tai Chi courses, Trager or Feldenkrais lessons, or meditation events.
Learn how to meditate, and explore how to turn your attention inwards. Allow yourself to enjoy the luxury of being connected with yourself.
I wish you a relaxed autumn time!
